Publications

Memoriav publishes recommendations for the preservation of audiovisual recordings, a company report, the annual "Memoriav Bulletin", as well as a quarterly electronic newsletter.

Courses

The preservation and the improvement of accessibility of audiovisual recordings requires basic skills including familiarity with the materials as well as know-how in the storage and handling of these recordings. Memoriav offers regular courses given by professionals to convey this fundamental information.
Memoriav members receive a price reduction to attend these courses (max. two persons per institution).

Audiovisual Archives

In collaboration with the Swiss association for librarians and documentalists (Verband Bibliothek Information Schweiz BIS), Memoriav offers the extension course cycle "Audiovisual Archives", each year devoted to a specific subject or to one of the following areas: photography, sound, film or video.

Film

The course on "Conserving, restoring and reusing films" ("Konservierung, Restaurierung und Wiederverwendung von Filmen"), is offered regularly by Reto Kromer, Konservator / Restaurator SKR. It covers the following:
handling film professionally
storage media, formats, processes
film conservation and restoration
viewing, projection, copying, digitisation

Consulting

On request, Memoriav offers individual consulting by specialists for the preservation and accessibility of photographs, sound recordings, films and videos.
