Projects in Video and TV
Memoriav initiates and promotes projects for the preservation and availability of TV and video recordings in Switzerland.

Since its founding, Memoriav has supported the national television institutions in saving their extensive archive contents. Other projects are dedicated to the preservation of video collections of art and (youth) culture.
Memoriav not only pays part of the project costs, it also works together with the institutions to establish selection criteria, transfer plans and cataloguing standards.
As with all projects supported by Memoriav, great value is placed for video and TV on public access to the recordings. The descriptions of the moving pictures are stored in Memobase; the videos themselves can be viewed in selected institutions on cassette or DVD, or via the Internet.
